In another era, this 2-acre parcel was a thriving turkey farm. With four units
(converted coops) and a barn, the owner debated whether to level the parcel
and build on spec to the property’s limit (zoning A-2, B-4); 2 large homes with a
1,000 sq ft granny unit each; or to leave the rentals and develop the agricultural
potential. The economy was the deciding factor; revamp the units to yield
maximum rental income, cultivate organic edibles using permaculture practices,
then decide in a couple of years if the market will bear a spec project for profit.
